Location
We are located at 1086 NW Pickering St, Issaquah, WA 98027. When you arrive, please park on the left side of the driveway. Our home studio is designed to be a warm, comfortable space for families, where we can safely and beautifully capture your newborn’s earliest days.
Timing Is Everything
Depending on the package you’ve selected, your session may last anywhere from 90 minutes to 3 hours. This allows enough time for feeding, soothing, and capturing a variety of poses.
It’s very important that you arrive on time for your scheduled session. Since we often have other commitments on the same day, late arrivals will reduce the amount of time available for your photoshoot. We want you to enjoy the full experience and get the most out of your session, so please plan accordingly.
What to Expect in the Studio
Our studio is kept cozy and warm to help your baby stay relaxed and sleepy. All wraps, blankets, and props are carefully selected for safety and style, and everything is sanitized before each session. You’ll find the environment calm and welcoming, so you can sit back while we create timeless portraits of your little one.
Since this is also our home, we kindly ask that any additional family members or grandparents who come along remain in the designated waiting area during the session. This helps keep the studio space quiet, safe, and distraction-free for your baby, while still giving loved ones a chance to be close by and enjoy the experience.
Feeding and Soothing Tips
-
Try to feed your baby right before leaving home or as soon as you arrive at the studio.
-
Bring extra bottles, formula, or anything you need for nursing breaks.
-
We provide a small fridge to keep milk cold and a bottle warmer for when you need it, so feeding is simple and stress-free.
-
A pacifier can also help soothe your baby for certain poses, even if they don’t usually use one.
What to Bring
-
Essentials: Pacifiers, diapers, wipes, burp cloths, and a change of clothes for both baby and parents. Accidents happen often during newborn sessions, so it’s always good to have backups.
-
Snacks & water: Sessions can run long, so bring a few snacks and drinks for yourself. Staying comfortable helps you relax and enjoy the experience.
-
Extra baby supplies: If your baby uses formula or expressed milk, pack a little more than you think you’ll need. Bring extra diapers and wipes too—you’ll be glad to have them.
What Parents Should Wear
For family and parent portraits, we recommend wearing neutral or soft tones like white, cream, beige, gray, or light pastels. These colors photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your connection with your baby. Try to avoid bold patterns, logos, or neon colors, as they can distract from the timeless look we’re creating.
If your package includes gowns, we provide a selection in our studio that are specifically designed for maternity and postpartum comfort. You’re welcome to browse and select from our collection here: View Our Gowns for Moms
Prepping Siblings for the Session
Big brothers and sisters play an important part in creating sweet memories with their new baby! A little preparation helps them feel comfortable and enthusiastic:
-
Talk about the session ahead of time: Explain that you’ll all be taking special photos together to celebrate the new baby.
-
Let them practice: Encourage siblings to gently hold a favorite stuffed animal as “practice” for photos.
-
Keep outfits simple & comfy: Soft, neutral colors work best. Make sure they can move easily and don’t feel restricted.
-
Bring a favorite toy or book: This can be used as a quick reward or to help them relax between shots.
-
Plan for breaks: Young children sometimes need a moment away from the camera—having snacks or a quiet activity handy keeps the mood positive.
-
Stay upbeat: Celebrate small wins (“Great job sitting nicely!”) and keep praise flowing. Enthusiasm from parents goes a long way in helping siblings cooperate.
By setting expectations and making the session fun, siblings usually shine in front of the camera and create heartfelt images you’ll treasure.
